Especially small and medium-sized farms struggle with increased needs for monitoring from various angles. This includes regulatory requirements driven, e.g., by the global push to reduce pesticides and to improve soil health. We present the MULTISENS²E project developing a concept for a monitoring ecosystem that will allow visualizing multi-sensor data collected from fields and applying predictive models, e.g., for frost or plant disease detection. The extensible concept developed in the project allows the use of a wide range of “sensors” ranging from free satellite images, low-cost off-the-shelf sensors, such as, weather stations, to sophisticated and novel technologies, such as hyperspectral cameras, noise and odor sensors. At the stand you will be able to see examples from partners in the viticulture and pomology field. A tangible example, e.g., a potted plant with a sensor-based watering system, will be available at the stand as an interactive experience.
